The born Team's Analysis

The born Job Advertising Index registered a 15 point dip during September.

The decline brings the index back down to summer levels, after a surge of 14 points in August.

There were notable differences in the trends for specialist boards and generalist boards:

  • Overall, generalist boards experienced a significant decline in average advertising volumes, down 11%, following increases in July and August.

  • The total volume of advertising for niche boards held steady in September, following a rise in August, but remained below June's levels.

For the niche job board sectors included in the index, Law Enforcement and Education bounced back after summer decreases, with Human Resources experiencing a strong increase for a second month running.
